I had a really great time here and would have stayed for longer. I really enjoyed the place, everything was great. The breakfast was absolutely fantastic, all meals were outstanding. Location: the hotel was close to restaurants, train station, the Spar and more. Also, it was just 5 minutes' walk to a commemorative bronze statue.
Can’t fault anything about it.

We visited the Old Pines for one night at the end of a wonderful weeks holiday in Scotland and we all considered it to be an wonderful end to the holiday - the cherry on a big cream cake! What first struck me and the members of our group of four 60+ age people was the wonderful ambience of the hotel due to its construction, use of materials - especially pine, use of space, and lighting. The rooms whilst not huge were very comfortable and clean. The hotel management and staff were superb being efficiently helpful but never intrusive and this added to a great experience (thank you so much). The food was really excellent and the environment the hotel is set in is very special. The hotel was very child / family friendly and I know that people there return to (as we would like to) this wonderful hotel which in all ways is a real gem. Finally we were very pleased at our bill due to the very reasonable rates for rooms and meals drinks etc.

It has been a wonderful experience, the hotel and setting with lots of details, the staff impecable, for me, by far, the best hotel in our whole trip around Scotland.

The proprietors and staff gave us a warm welcome and worked hard to to meet our needs, from afternoon tea and scones on return from the days activiites, or advice on local points of interest The hotel is small but exceptionally comfortable in a quiet rural location with wonderful views of Ben Nevis. The breakfasts and dinners were of very high quality and contributed to a very enjoyable six days.

Availabilty of "single room" prices for an individual - essential for those on their own. Comfortable room & excellent walk-in shower. Amenable host. Excellent breakfast. An enjoyable relaxing stay for some remote Corbett bagging in spite of inclement weather.
Room sound transmission disturbing sleep but tolerable.

The staff was amazing- so accommodating and helpful. The breakfast was the best I've had on a 12 day trip in the uk. Farm fresh eggs- yum! The rooms are simple and nice. Setting is amazing- the views out of the dining room are incredible. I would definitely go back!

Couple looking for a retreat
What a beautiful setting, glen and suzanne really know how to. The food was really good, especially the way the breakfast was prepared and served, it was like art on a plate. And I gotta say, Glen's stories about the area just made our mornings even better.
It wasn't exactly cheap but honestly, after the experience we had, it felt justified.

We very much enjoyed our stay, relaxed and ate good food. The kids had a great time in the large garden on the rope swing and trampoline. Tranquil and beautiful views towards Ben Nevis. Would go back.

Excellent location for a get-a-way from it all break. Lovely friendly family run business. Food was extremeley good especially the home made scones and jam :-) Nothing was to much trouble and was given good advise regarding places to visit. Would recommend and will re-visit if we ever decide to spend some more time in Fort William.

Excellent location. Friendly owners and warm welcome. Comfortable room and due to off peak time of year there was very little noise. Rustic Surroundings with a spectacular view. Breakfast was very good. Home baking was an added bonus plus fresh coffee. Easy access to the main routes to Fort William and onwards to Skye. All in all, a very satisfying short break and would recommend others to consider staying there.
If we had one criticism, the evening meal was too pricey and small in portion size.
